Contgrats to the Volunteers!!

Dear Sierra Club Tree Member

In case you haven't heard, Kansas Dept. of Health & Environment Secretary Bremby has denied the permit for the two Sunflower/Holcomb coal fired power plants.

THIS IS A HUGE VICTORY!! THANK YOU, TREE MEMBERS!!

So, please pat yourselves on the back, pop a cold one, and consider this a job well done. Oh, there will be appeals, etc., but this is a special victory that will be heard across the U.S., and even beyond.

After our brief celebration, there WILL be more work to do. We will want to encourage legislators who were in favor of the coal plants to see that world energy is quickly moving to renewable energy. They are likely pretty mad, and will want to block favorable wind legislation to get back at us. Hence, shooting the state of Kansas in the foot.

We will need to create a spirit of moving forward, side by side, with those we have disagreed with. Kansas deserves a chance to be a leader in wind and renewable energy.

Thanks for your hard work, and congratulations on this landmark victory!!

Your Kansas Chapter of the Sierra Club
